Best Brown Rice




Some people dislike the "earthy " taste of plain brown rice. I did too untill I discovered short grain brown rice. It is chewy and a little sweet, I think it is much more flavorful than the long grain variety. This recipe is based on a pilaf style rice. You can use butter instead of the earth balance or even olive oil. I like to use better than bouillon for the broth but any bouillon or broth would do. Some times I soak the rice for a feww hours in the cooking water before begining this recipe, but you do not have to.

1 Cup short grain brown rice
2 Cups chicken broth
1 Tablespoon Earth Balance


Add all to the pan and bring to a boil. Then cover your pan and put temp on medium low and simmer for about an hour until all the liquid is absorbed.
